I always underestimate project completeness on my blogs and sites like Ravelry, because I don’t want to say a project is 60% done and then it turns out not to be and I’ve essentially lied.
Tried an experiment… I had some massive (by tatting standards) size 8 thread kicking around. It was pretty, so I tried to use it. Unfortunately, I find that tatting patterns do not scale when you change thread sizes. The first attempt utterly failed. I modified the pattern, but it still didn’t turn out as it was supposed to. There are supposed to be 5 points to this pattern… sigh.
Still… pretty.
Is it size 8 Pearl, or something else? You’re right, it’s quite lovely, but personally I can’t use something so thick!
Seriously. Machine-made generic lace, Hardanger, whatever, I’m tracking the “tatting” tag to see tatting, not that other crap.
Sorry I haven’t been around much. I’m also sorry that it’s going to continue for a little while longer, probably until after Christmas.
I’m crafty and like to make gifts for people, and this year I’m making a majority of them. As of right now, two weeks before Christmas, I have a tatted doily of my own design that I need to finish, two tatted snowflake ornaments, a pair of earrings, a necklace, and a few custom eyeshadows that have to be made. And I can’t tumbl while I make these things, it just doesn’t work (as we all know that multitasking anything with tumblr doesn’t work).
I’ll probably reblog a post here and there, but otherwise I’ll see y’all after the holidays. Or once I finish making all this stuff, if by some miracle I get it done quickly.

For anyone out there in tumblrland who happens to tat, you should check this giveaway out! The prize is 13 balls of Lizbeth thread in the size(s) of your choosing.
It really, REALLY bothers me when people can’t tell the difference between a knit project and a crochet project. The stitches don’t even look remotely the same.
Or when anything lacelike is automatically crochet, even though it isn’t.

Still not approved for that tatting group. I just went to the group and doublechecked, and I’m still pending approval; it’s not even a case of being rejected and not knowing it.
On the super rare chance someone who is a member sees this, it’s the Here Be Tatters Yahoo group. I was told at InTatters that HBT was an offshot, since there were people in the old InTatters Yahoo group who had no interest in moving to the forum format they use now.
I’ll be honest: you can keep your Yahoo group. I am thoroughly unimpressed.
Welp, it’s been a week.
If we want to be arsey about it, technically it’s been over 100 hours.
At this point, I’m quite put-off and would be more amused if they continue to not approve my join request for another 3 days so that I can announce that I’ve been waiting a week in another tatting group I’m in, the one that suggested that group to me in the first place. I don’t have any other option, since the entire group’s locked down and I can’t exactly email anyone to pester them.
I’ve been waiting on my approval for the Here Be Tatters group for 3 days, literally 72 hours. I sent a join request at someone’s recommendation when I was asking about something, but what good is it if the group moderator apparently doesn’t moderate the group?
Edit: I should specify that this is a private group, so you can’t see posts or anything without being a member.
