#safetytipsforladies: A hashtag about how tired women are of being told to do stupid, ineffective, unrealistic things to avoid being raped.

Indian girls do what?
A primary example of a white man meaning to attack white women, but women of color not only receiving the brunt of the initial damage, but are most likely to receive the wrath of the white women for his joke.
Not that he’s funny anyways, but how many of you realized that this is a fake Twitter account?
Yes because the worst thing for any man to do is act like a woman. How enlightened.
She is so dumb. Like please rap and stfu. Her management needs to take her internet privileges away.
is she serious right now
I don’t want to see anyone fawning over her ass anymore. I checked Twitter and all I see is shit-talking. She isn’t outspoken, she isn’t revolutionary, she’s just wearing her ass as a hat.
For those who don’t get it, people started making lewd comments about Lindsay’s breast in the comments of Part 1 of TBF.
Way to go, guys.
Freaking morons.
So she makes a “feminist statement” by appropriating a garment worn by women belonging to a culture and religion that she does not belong to? To use Muslim women as an example? To juxtapose her right as a Western feminist to reveal as much as she wants? That’s sick. It reeks of colonialist and orientalist attitudes that suggest brown women are oppressed while white women are not- an attitude that she is only able to produce because she is a position of white privilege. Whatever she is doing, it is not feminist. it is racist.
Along with that, when a PoC wears the burqa/niqab we’re deemed helpless and oppressed, she’s being deemed as empowering.
I thought she was smarter than this, especially since she’s been pretty outspoken about women’s rights and feminism. I’m disappointed, and I hope she sees my tweet telling her as such.
On another note, I see she’s throwing some disses about tumblr. Perhaps because we see what you did there, Lindsay, and we’re not letting you off the hook?
Hahaha, no.
White feminists are problematic as hell all of the time. So are white LGBT activists, whatever have you, white privilege turns us blind to other people.
And I knew she was really, relaly goddamn privilege blind from before. She’s railed against Tumblr before, and dismissed all/any complaints of casual racism, appropriation, cultural imperialism and such.
I’ve never followed her too actively, so I was largely ignorant to her ignorance.
Now I know better, and I’m glad I do.
Also, when she had the nerve to ask me what I thought was wrong about cultural appropriation “this time,” I wanted to fire back informing her that it’s ALWAYS wrong. Possibly with some cussing.

Bigotry ≠ mental illness, racism ≠ mental illness, prejudice ≠ mental illness.
They do, however, mean you are an ignorant and should be punished with the pain of a thousand burning suns if you act violently because of them.

Sir, I would like to shake your hand. Not because you get it, but because you get that other men need to get it.
